"...if, like many avid surfers, you know which buoys are bellwethers for your spot, prepare to inhale the catnip.”
Bob Tedeschi

"The thing looks GREAT - very nicely designed and very intuitive."

Features:
• At-a-Glance NOAA Data for all your Buoys
• Set Your Ideal Wind and Wave Criteria
• Alerts & Alarms w/ Push Notifications
• Tide Times for all your Surf Spots

Select the buoys that you regularly monitor, as many as you want, from a list or map of all available NOAA buoys worldwide. Then set your ideal surf criteria based on wave height, dominant wave period, swell direction, wind direction and wind speed. Determine what times of the day to receive notifications and Surf Watch will take it from there. You can optionally assign to each buoy the tide station closest to where you surf for high and low tide times on the details screen. Once configured, Surf Watch will always notify you when the surf is up in your area!

There are two types of notifications:

Alerts — similar to receiving a text message, you'll hear a buoy bell and get a message that displays which buoy has met your criteria as well as the data for that buoy.

Alarms — usually reserved for the morning, the alarm setting is intended to get you out of bed if there is surf. Choose from 4 different alarm sounds ranging from serene ocean waves to the jarring submarine alert!

** Buoy Locations **
Surf Watch uses data from NOAA's network of buoys and can be subject to infrequent interruptions in data as buoys fail to report in.

You can see if there are buoys in your area by going to www.ndbc.noaa.gov

*** IMPORTANT FOR IPOD TOUCH USERS ***
You must have a network connection in order to receive data/notifications. To be woken up by an iPod Touch, you need to enable the "Don't sleep" option in the Surf Watch Settings and leave Surf Watch open when you go to bed, to prevent your device from going to sleep and disabling your network connection. It is recommended that you leave your device plugged into a charger when doing this.
