HiGuide World

The «HiGuide» series has been designed to help you in the choice and preparation of your trips, as well as being your guide when you are there. It’s primary target is to promote small and large places: Villages, cities, islands, regions and countries.

HiGuide World is a catalog and a window open on all HiGuide titles. To discover the world of the HiGuides, it proposes to download a sample or the whole of each HiGuide installed on the AppStore.

To allow HiGuide World to include all present and future titles, we have deeply modified the internal engine of our HiGuides.

As all HiGuides, HiGuide World uses all internal resources of the iPhone for the presentation of each region, and to be a GPS driven guide using its own internal or online maps. As them, it permits the user to personalize each tour and to add its own Points of Interest, its own written or spoken comments, its video sequences.

However, to be able to run all other HiGuides, a lot more was necessary: HiGuide World has got…

a new, incremental system for the maps: each map downloaded for a region, a city, a country, can be used by all other, each winning in wideness and in precision.
A smart downloading system, managing all transfers without any trouble, working seamless in the background while you are using the guide on a region already downloaded or even still in download.

After and during download, the commutation from a title to an other one is immediate.

HiGuide World is the first HiGuide title using these features. All the titles it proposes for download share the same characteristics, even if they are not yet updated on the AppStore. From this HiGuide World, you will be able to download and play all free HiGuides, which are for the time being...

- a city : Paris,
- an island : Corfu,
- an exotic country : the Cameroon,
- a country : France, a preliminary version to prepare the introduction of all regions of France and of many cities and famous touristic places.

However, HiGuide World is mainly a window to the future. It proposes new titles, either...

- in pre-release versions,
- for trial,
- for promotion during a limited period of time. For instance, these next days or weeks, ou will be able to download extended versions of the above titles: Paris in full version, Corfu during the famous Easter ceremonies, and videos of traditions, nature and wild fauna in Cameroon.

A notification «Push» system works with HiGuide World to announce any new version occuring, even if you are no using it : It’s better to do not disable it.

Technical description :

GPS and network triangulation for accurate geographic localization,
Compass on maps (3Gs and iPad)
- all informations and images geocoded,
- usable with without Internet connexion:
- internal map system and downloadable sets of maps with different scales for Paris, the parisian region and more, to be used without internet connexion,
- online maps or satellite photos, covering the world and capable detailed photos from the sky,
- Points of Interest searchable by categories or using a search field
- user added point of interests, with photos, texts, audio and video, are included in the database just as other points,
Extensions available through a window to the Internet without leaving HiGuide,
- all screen can be seen in vertical and horizontal position,
- erase and reset by iPhone shaking.
