"Kyoto Hannari Guide" is a tour guide application designed for those planning to tour Japan's cultural gem, the city of Kyoto. This application is available in Japanese, English, French, Chinese, and Korean.
The main functions offered by Kyoto Hannari Guide are as follows.
(1) Kyoto Tour Map
A map of Kyoto using GPS technology to plot numerous tour spots around the city. It's the perfect tool for those who have arrived in Kyoto, but don't know where to go, or want to visit significant spots in their immediate vicinity.
■ Main Features
- A map and list of tour spots near your current location
- As you change locations on the map, nearby tour spots shown will change accordingly
- Approximately 500 spots around Kyoto were carefully selected for display
- A "Details Screen" provides introductory text, related links, routes, movies, and other information
- Image display mode provides images to give you a feel for nearby destinations
- You can switch to different categories
- Spots of interest can be bookmarked for future reference
(2) Blog Creation Mode
As you discover beautiful scenery, incredible restaurants, majestic architecture and more on your journey through Kyoto, we highly recommend that you create blog entries using this application. This mode enables you to upload entries to the "Kyoto Post Map" on the "Kyoto Hannari Guide" project site (http://www.hannarikyoto.jp/) to share information with other users.
■ Main Features
- Photos/images taken on the spot can be attached to entries as you're creating them
- Bloggers can simultaneously post entries to their own blogs by using their own ID and password
[Things to Note]
- This application is for those who wish to look over a variety of tour spots while visiting Kyoto. It is specifically designed for optimal use within Kyoto city limits, so when outside of Kyoto, users must zoom in manually from a map of Japan.
- This application is provided by the "Kyoto Tourism Promotion Project through ICT (Kyoto Hannari Guide Project)", adopted by the 2009 ICT Local Economic Revitalization Project (Ubiquitous Zone Project). For details, please view the "Kyoto Hannari Guide" project site (http://www.hannarikyoto.jp/).
