One of London’s most popular tourist attractions, the London Eye elegantly fulfils a simple idea - lifting people to a great height in a stunning location and in a spectacular structure. The views across London are breathtaking and include many of the city’s iconic buildings.
This one-of-a-kind app is the perfect companion to experiencing the London Eye and its surroundings without the need for books, maps or guides. Use it at home, on a plane, in the queue, on the Eye - the encounter begins well before the entrance kiosk and continues long after leaving.
To make the most of a visit there are ideas to consider before setting off, along with visitor information, travel planner and useful links. Afterwards there are suggestions for other things to see and do in the area ranging from more of the same to the completely different. Points of interest and local facilities are marked on an interactive offline area map including introduction, contact details and weblinks. When online they appear in a directory of the 100 nearest points of interest, listed by proximity and plotted on Google Maps.
Don’t forget your headphones because there’s nearly an hour of atmospheric audio guide to use how you want to. Enjoy before you go, listen again when on the Eye and keep as a lasting memento. With pristine sound quality and filled with high quality music, cinematic sound design and dramatic reconstructions it’s an engaging and immersing way to discover the many fascinating stories about the Eye.
To accompany a ‘flight’ there’s a choice of two tracks: time travel to the sights, sounds and smells of Shakespearean London on the ascent then descend at the height of the Victorian era when the Palace of Westminster was built. Alternatively, kids (young and old!) encounter the space age in a futuristic adventure around the city with games, quizzes and a very special surprise guest!
