Metlink's iPhone app gives you scheduled departures for trains, trams and buses throughout Victoria.

This version is iOS 5 ready, and is available to those who are running iOS 3.0 (or higher). It also has the new ‘online’ feature to access timetables directly from the Metlink server. All you need is an internet connection. However, you can still download timetables to your handset with the ‘offline’ feature.

The app provides you with train, tram and bus information on the go.
You can check scheduled departures for train, tram and bus, plan your journey, get real-time tram information via tramTRACKER®, view the next five departures from stations and stops, view the unplanned changes for metropolitan trains, find your closest stops using GPS, and load your favourite stations and stops for quick access to timetables. The app also runs in the background, so you can plan and refer back to a journey, or quickly access your departures.

For the most up-to-date public transport information, you can choose to access timetables directly from the Metlink server with the ‘online’ feature. All you need is an internet connection.
However, you can still download and store timetables on your handset with the ‘offline’ feature so it uses none of your data pack / cap when using ‘offline’ departures. We recommend you download timetables to your handset using a WiFi network for both speed and data usage reasons.

What's new

No more downloading timetables! Online mode allows you to access our up-to-date timetable information over 3G, so no more having to sync your timetables every couple of weeks.

Other new features include:
- iOS 3.x support, Metlink Classic is being discontinued and everyone can now use the one version of the app.

- Saved Journeys, you can plan a journey and now save it to your favourites.

- Some slight redesigns and bug fixes.
