SMARTCITY, the new mobile telephone application for “smart travellers” !

GALLIMARD GUIDES and multimedia producers LATITUDE SEDONA have joined forces to create a new range of travel applications, exclusively designed for smartphones (iPhone, Blackberry, Androïd), ideal for visitors who wish to make the most of their stay.


What’s so special about Smartcity ?
-The content : The Lite Edition provides the 40 (600 for the full Edition) best points of interest in Paris visited, chosen and commented on by the GALLIMARD GUIDES team: hotels, restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping, monuments and sites.
-Update : regular addition of new points of interest and revised content, plus permanent updating of practical information.

With the “Areas” option, discover 10 areas specially mapped out for tourists.
* An area can be selected on the interactive map or from a list.
* A historical and cultural introduction is provided for each area, from a novel angle: calling to mind the 1937 Universal Exhibition at Trocadero for example, the eve of the French Revolution in Faubourg Saint Antoine, or Marcel Carné’s film, Les Enfants du Paradis, on Boulevard du Temple.
* Pick and choose to make your own list of points of interest in the area.

With “Smartcity addresses”, the inquisitive traveller has access to over 600 carefully selected points of interest, featuring commentary by the authors of GALLIMARD GUIDES:
* A varied selection of points of interest for all tastes and pockets, recommended by authors of the Gallimard Guides, ranging from the essential visit to places off the beaten track.
* Comprehensive commentary not only helps the user choose where to go, but also to find important practical information: address, telephone, opening hours, email and website.
* Each category can be sorted alphabetically, by type, and even by distance.
* Addresses can be recommended to friends by email.
* Googlemaps can be accessed to obtain the itinerary to a particular destination by foot or by car (features a warning on extra costs for Internet connexion).
