CalcuLathe
CalcuLathe is a home machineshop calculator to help determine appropriate feeds and speeds for turning materials on a metal lathe. It calculates based on material, tool type, depth of cut, feed rate, workpiece diameter and expected tool life, as well as tap drill sizes.
A second module within the application does tap drill calculations. This module calculates the required drill diameter for a given thread engagement for UNC, UNF and Metric thread sizes and pitches. You input the desired thread type and thread engagement, the application will then calculate the hole size for you, and convert to the closest number or letter drill as appropriate.
