Dimmer Lite is a private, anonymous web browser.
I've never trusted a browser's built-in "clear history" or "stealth mode" button. There's always some residual. "Dimmer Lite" is built from scratch for private browsing. When you start up the app it's a blank slate every time. No url history, no serch history, no unwanted bookmarks, no cookies, no worries.
FEATURES:
✭ indicates unique features
✓✭ Ambiguous app name ("Dimmer Lite") and icon (abstract symbols) does not invite attention
✓✭ Includes a dimmer so you can obscure your screen
✓✭ Choose from different search engines, including Google, Bing, and IxQuick (which doesn't record your IP)
✓✭ A "Boss Key" that instantly blanks your screen
✓✭ Automatic "Boss Key" trigger in case your phone goes to sleep (to avoid the "tape in the VCR" problem)
✓✭ Compatible with more sites than competing browsers *
✓ Upon Exit: No history, no old searches, no unwanted bookmarks, no autocomplete, no worries
✓ Thoroughly tested
FEATURES IN FULL VERSION:
✓✭ Take both regular and double-sized screenshots of pages
✓✭ Ability to clear your clipboard
✓✭ Password-settable "Boss Key"
✓✭ Never "dials home" or shows any ads
✓ Landscape/Portrait Mode
✓ Ability to lock-in landscape or portrait mode
✓ Full-Screen browsing
Notes:
- * if you go to twitter.com, type in a search, then click on links, they won't work in other browsers. That's just one example
- The only thing that is saved is your settings for your password, dimmer, and choice of search engine.
- Some of you have asked, "How did you create your start-up screen?" I was fiddling with photoshop, and I accidentally hit the smudge tool. Plus I sort of had Joy Division's album in my head.
