IRS Mileage Logger will:
- use the iPhone GPS to accurately track your miles traveled (GPS ON/OFF)
- create an IRS acceptable mileage log (SAVE)
- calculate your tax deduction for each type of mile you drove
- email the log file for back-up and printing. (Email Log)
Also the app will:
- keep logs for 2 separate vehicles
- stores mileage in miles or kilometers
- allows manual entry of trip data
- stores default email address for easy email processing
- stores your settings between sessions
The IRS currently allows allows 3 types of mileage deductions:
1. 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven
2. 23.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
3. 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
ALL THE DATA IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE UNTIL EMAILED, SO EMAIL OFTEN.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. So, turn off the GPS when you're not tracking your mileage. (GPS OFF)

What's new
The IRS updated mileage rates effective 7/1/2011. This update allows fractional cents per mile to be entered, stored and recalled.
