Hold your iPhone 3Gs next to something and it will show you if it might be metal.
NOTE: this application is for educational or fun purposes only. Do not rely on the output.
It uses the internal compass built into the iPhone so it won't work on devices without a compass (no iPod! no iPhone 3G no first generation iPhone).
