There are tens of thousands of applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch in the App Store. Most of these apps sit around getting only a few downloads each day as they don't appear at the top of the search results. This is a real shame as there are some fantastic jewels out there just waiting to be discovered.

The Antasti Random App Finder can help you to discover some of these gems by showing you nine apps at a time on your screen. You can download any of the apps immediately, or refresh the screen for another nine.

This first release offers very basic functionality to find these lost apps. The next release which is already in development will include a 'shake to shuffle' feature, as well as filtering to only show apps in a certain genre (such as games, utilities, etc) as well as the ability to only show free apps, or apps in a certain price range.

Download the first release now and upgrade to the full featured version for free when it becomes available in a few weeks.

27-Aug-09 Thanks for the reviews everyone. Version 1.1 is currently being reviewed by the app store and will be available soon. Version 1.2 is being developed now, I will make sure that it shows some details about the app so you can choose whether or not to go to the app store

04-Sep-09 I've just updated the app so that when you click an icon, you get so see the app details before going to the App Store to download. Search filtering will be available shortly!
