Service Alert
Ever tried to make a phone call or send a text and realized your service is dropping in and out?… This App will make your life easier!
Those 5 little bars across the top of your iPhone just sometimes aren't enough, SERVICE ALERT provides a quick and easy way to know when your iPhone is in range of signal.
If you're traveling on a train or simply in and out of service just set the app to SEARCH and it will notify you on screen and also by an alarm ringing or vibrating when you next go in to a signal area.
The app is fully customizable and you can set the volume of alerts aswell as turn vibrations or audio on and off.
PLEASE NOTE:
Wifi must be disabled to use this app. Service Alert determines if there is a data network available - either by WiFi or 3G. It does not make any attempt to detect whether a voice cellular network is available, as there is no documented API to this end. We are actually using "Reachability.m" - an Objective-C module written by Apple themselves in 2009, which determines network availability. We then isolate whether WiFi or 3G is available, and only determine if ServiceAlert should exit it's search if 3G is available (which by association indicates voice cellular network should also be available).
