"Find your inner 'Vader' or 'Smeagol' with SonicVox"
cnet
Tired of your same old voice? Seeking a little vocal variety? Get into character with Smule’s Sonic Vox, the real-time voice shifter.
Here are a few ways to use Sonic Vox:
✦ Just talk into your phone, holding your phone to your ear as you would when using it as a phone.
✦ Sonic Vox is better with headphones.
✦ Sonic Vox is best if you plug your phone into external speakers and use the phone as you would a microphone.
Our tutorial video, for example, has the phone plugged directly into a video camera (speaker-out to mic-in) -- this is quite effective.
Note that Sonic Vox cannot change your voice on existing iPhone calls. You can, however, integrate Sonic Vox with Skype. Connect your iPhone (speaker-out) to your MacBook (mic-in). Switch the system preference to Line-In. Launch Sonic Vox. Launch Skype. Make that call.
With Sonic Vox you can alter your voice with a swipe of your finger. Want to cross over to the Dark Side? Slide your finger to the left. Now say it. You know you want to. “Luke, I am your…”
Or maybe you are feeling conflicted about having lost a “preciousssss” ring? Slide your finger back to the right this time and go ahead, rant on.
Transform your voice even more. Simply slide your finger up and down and hear what happens… happens… happens…
You might try other entertaining apps from Smule, including the acclaimed Magic Piano, I Am T-Pain, Sonic Lighter, Sonic Boom, Ocarina, Zephyr or our new Glee.
Sonic Vox requires an iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd Generation with Mic.
