Alerts are sent using Apple Push Notification Service which is a free service for iPhone/iPod. Weather Alert also provides easy access to NEA's weather website.
The weather forecasts are provided by NEA free to the public which can be found on the Weather@SG website. The advantage of Weather Alert is that you get automatic customized weather push alerts for places you are interested in without any need to constantly manually check the website.
